Exclusive Israeli Movie Screening and Q&A with director and producer – December 3

Join us for an exclusive movie screening on December 3 of the Israeli documentary “50 Broken Pieces” followed by Q&A with the director Micha Amitai and the producer Aner Preminger who will join us live from Israel via Zoom. (Micha is the cousin of JCJ member Raphael Sitbon).

Movie plot:
The film is an intimate portrait of a friendship between an Air-Force pilot (The director) who lost comrades-in-arms in the IAF Helicopter crash in Romania (2010) and a veteran soldier (Meir) who lives and works in Sderot, suffers from PTSD and experiencing guilt for not preventing a terror-attack at the former Israeli settlement in Gaza (1995).
With great sensitivity the director films Meir’s day to day life among rocket launches, his work as a wood artist and his struggle against his troubles and the pitfalls of the bureaucracy.
Micha and Meir head for a mutual journey, trying to deal with the ghosts that haunt them.

In these troubled times this is a reminder of the sacrifices and dedication from our brothers and sisters to protect our one and only homeland.

The screening is for adults only and will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
