With literal minutes to go until Shavuot starts (we’re still within the 18 minutes) and ChatGPT unable to compose a paragraph that brilliantly combines the holiday of Shavuot with our Bat Mitzvah Kayla Kleiman’s roots in Chicago, lets focus on what is important. Tonight, Thursday the community will bring in Shavuot with Cholov Yisroel (über kosher) cheese brought over from the holy Five Towns on Long Island and cheesecake made in the old-style family recipes of the Andreu and Wilhelm families.
On Shabbat morning, the celebration of Kayla Kleiman’s Tokyo Bat Mitzvah will shake the very foundations of her native Hiroo. Why Tokyo Bat Mitzvah? Because in August, she will ascend the bimah in Northbrook, Illinois at Congregation Anshe Tikvah’s Kleiman Campus, colloquially referred to as ‘The House (of Worship) that Grandpa Built’ to continue the Yiddishe naches that begins this Saturday at the JCC. Mazal Tov!
