This year the Jewish Community of Japan is again proud to support the food drive organized by Second Harvest Japan  (http://2hj.org/).  Each year our members come together to pack up food for families around Japan who are having trouble making ends meet.  It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to take a hands-on approach and make a real difference in the lives of people around the country by literally putting food on the tables of those who need help.  We hope many of our members will again turn out to support this worthy cause.

If you are interested in participating, we will send you the list of food items that need to be purchased and brought to the JCC. In order to avoid a crowd, we will schedule time slots for participating families to come and pack on 5 December between 11:30 and 12:30 or on 1, 2 and 3 December.  We will arrange for cardboard boxes to be shipped to the JCC from Second Harvest and we will have tape available.  We just need our members to show up with the necessary food items and pack them up so that we can ship them to Second Harvest.  We will ask members to cover the shipping costs at 1500 yen per box.  That will be charged to your membership accounts.  We need to inform Second Harvest of how many boxes we will contribute so please fill out the form below to let us know if you will participate and how many boxes your family will sponsor.  Please let us know as soon as possible, but by 15 November at the latest.  As always, thank you so much for participating in this worthy cause.
