While normally the busiest time of year in a synagogue revolves around Rosh Hashana/Yom Kippur, the JCC was rocking and rolling over Sukkot. We were fortunate to test just how many people could comfortably gather in our Sukkah on more than a few occasions. We hosted Sukkah decorating, multiple meals and a touching visit by a group of Ukrainian refugees to our humble community center during Sunday School.
In the words of the group’s leader “Being in your Sukkah together gives us hope. The Jewish people have endured so much and yet you all seem so happy. Your spirit makes me think that one day our people we will also be able to rejoice again just like we did with you today.” Thank you to everyone who supported our High Holiday season culminating with the Simchat Torah ice cream and pizza party on Monday night. And now back to our regularly scheduled programming with Family Shabbat next Friday 10/28. Don’t forget to reserve by Wednesday 10/26 at 2pm.
