JCC Newsletter – Shmini

Before we get to Passover, let’s take a moment to appreciate just how amazing Purim was at the JCC. Instead of charging admission fees, we trusted that the community would step up in terms of donating to World Jewish Relief’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal instead and did you ever. We are currently holding at over 150,000 JPY raised which means much more to the people enduring war than it does our bottom line. Again (and for the last time I promise) thank you to Sherry Greenfield, Jack Halpern, Todd Walzer, Arie, Tal, Kyoko-san, Ozawa-san, Izaki-san and of course our sponsors the Greenfield, Halpern, Bleiweis, Greenberg, Andreu and Rose Families. Couldn’t make it? Watch the hourlong performance by the inimitable Jinta-la-Mvta klezmer band here.

Passover begins Friday night, April 15th. For the first time since 2019, we will host two in-person Seders at the JCC. Please visit our JCC Passover page for more details including Passover groceries and chametz sale.
